Sources and Corrections

Source hierarchy

Every fact on this site comes from one of the following source types, in priority order:

1. Official developer sources — Steam store pages, Steam Community announcements, official developer blog or social posts.
2. Official platform sources — Xbox product page, Xbox Wire, PlayStation store (only when a listing is confirmed).
3. Direct observation — hands-on testing logged with a date, platform, and version.

Community-reported information, Reddit, Discord, YouTube, and third-party guides are used only for discovery and cross-validation. They cannot stand alone as the basis for a published fact.

How facts are tracked

Each published fact links to:

• The exact source URL.
• The date the source was checked.
• A confidence level: Confirmed, Planned, Partial, Not confirmed, or Hold.

Facts marked Hold cannot be published until a new official source or reproducible hands-on test is available.

Corrections

If you find an error:

1. Note the specific page and the claim ID or statement that appears incorrect.
2. Identify the official source that contradicts it.
3. Describe the correction and, if possible, suggest the approved wording.

Corrections are reviewed against the official sources. Corrected facts are updated with a new checked date and source reference.

The evidence base for Tears of Metal was last refreshed on July 20, 2026. Facts published on this site reflect evidence checked through that date.
