Steam Early Access launched
Tears of Metal entered Steam Early Access on July 22, 2026. The current official Steam description confirms solo play and online co-op for up to four players, Emblem synergies, more than 100 artifacts, permanent skills between campaigns, settlement shops and permanent upgrades, unlock challenges, and more than 45 handcrafted environments. The announced launch scope separately described three Acts, three playable Heroes, Village upgrades, Emblems, Equipment, and Companions — TOM-024. The four-to-twelve-month Early Access estimate is a planning window — it is not a guaranteed schedule — TOM-020. Balance and stability work continues — TOM-021.

Demo removal plan reversed
The developer announced that the demo, which had been planned for removal around June 22, would remain available for the time being. The demo had reached 250,000 players. This reversal is confirmed and the demo was still showing as available on July 20 — TOM-005, TOM-015.

Early Access scope announced
The developer announced the July 22 Early Access launch scope: full progression loop, three Acts, three playable Heroes, Village upgrades, Emblems, Equipment, Companions. Planned roadmap additions — additional Heroes, Emblem family, Equipment or Charms, Village content, balance and quality-of-life work — were described separately as future plans — TOM-003, TOM-004.
